Pathogenesis

Students will learn about basic pathogenesis caused by viruses, bacteria, and parasites

Immunology

Innate and adaptive immunity will be studied as well as autoimmune and immunology in cancer

Disease

This topic will focus on the basic and technologies to treat diseases such as influenza, HIV, dengue, hepatitis, and malaria

Laboratory Visit

Students will visit laboratories in SITH-ITB and Biofarma, the leading vaccine manufacturer in Indonesia

The Summer School is Equivalent to 5 ECTS / 2 Indonesian Credit Units (SKS)

Program Overview
Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis: From Basic to Translational Research

THE SUMMER SCHOOL with a topic "Immunology and Microbial Pathogenesis : From Basic to Translational Research" is a twoo weeks course and one day seminar program. This program is organized by School of Life Sciences and Technology (SITH), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), in collaboration with PT. Biofarma, the leading vaccine manufacturer in indonesia. Topic courses include the molecular events involved in microbial infections and host responses, updated clinical issues in tropical diseasesas well as vaccine development. The courses will be completed with laboratory demonstrations related to vaccine production and will be taught by experts and researchers from Australia and Indonesia. In addition to the courses, participants will be involved in some cultural events and tourists atttraction around Bandung.
